Three weeks ago a co-worker told me about a diet that was kind of like the Atkin’s Diet but with less fat. It’s called the Dukan Diet, and after doing some research I decided to start it. I can’t count calories- I get bored. I can’t drastically cut calories and work out hardcore- I get too tired and cranky. Can I eat as much as I want as long as it’s lean protein and fat free dairy? Yes! The “eat as much as I want” is what did it for me, I can’t diet if I’m hungry all the time, which is why previous diets never worked. So I started the Attack phase which includes just lean protein, fat free dairy and 1 & 1/2 tablespoons of oat bran daily for 7 days and lost approximately 5 pounds. Then I started the Cruise Phase where you alternate days of pure protein with days of protein and vegetables. I’m at 3 weeks now and I’ve lost 11.4 lbs. I haven’t been hungry or cranky so it’s been really easy to stick with the diet. Two more things: drink at least 1 & 1/2 liters of water per day and walk 15 minutes (during attack phase) and 30 minutes (during cruise phase) daily.
